- 1993: Just when it seems that the damage done by Slytherin’s Basilisk will be undone, Ginny Weasley is taken into the Chamber of Secrets. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Gilderoy Lockhart enter the Chamber to rescue her, but in an accident where Lockhart suffers memory damage, he and Ron must remain behind, leaving Harry to face the Heir of Slytherin alone. He manages to save Ginny’s life, defeat the Basilisk, and unwittingly destroy the diary Horcrux.
